CHRISTMAS MESSAGE December, 2019
DEAR DIOCESAN FAMILY:
A child has been born to us, a son is given to us!
Today born to us is a Savior, the Messiah and Lord!
These words proclaim and summarize the Holy Scriptures, the most hopeful and true event that humanity has ever heard of and witnessed. It is the arrival of the Incarnation of God as a human being, born from the womb of a woman. God comes to us in the life of the child Jesus, Emmanuel, which means God is with us.
Presented with the image of a mother and father who silently contemplate their newborn child, nothing we say is enough to manifest the unfathomable mystery of what happened in the manger:
our Creator and Eternal God assumed our mortal nature to lift us up and give us extreme, infinite value.
That proclamation moves us and we can understand from the depths of our being, that Christmas is the time of God's tenderness made flesh and living history in the midst of our fragile humanity.
Christmas is the promise of hope and unending goodness that God offers us. The newborn child, enters the world becoming flesh like us. God makes himself human, enters our lives, we can know him, he is close, he is Jesus.
Jesus is the face of God, Jesus is the place of God where human beings can be in Him. The words of Jesus are the words of God. Everything that comes from Jesus comes from God, so Jesus is the true face of God. We know Him.
The Christmas we celebrate and share as a diocesan family and in every community is proof that we are not alone. God in Jesus walks in the midst of our projects, of our reality, of our missionary work and the many challenges we face every day. He finds us in complex vicissitudes, heals us, transforms us, drives us and shapes our horizon of life.
Christmas is living history. It is the presence of God surprising us with His love. In this celebration, it is necessary to offer all our gratitude, joy and admiration for his works. And to make the deep commitment to live with joy and simplicity of heart. Also to work, serve and bear witness to the values of the Kingdom of God to those who do not yet know him. I pray that this Christmas we all make the tenderness that comes from Jesus flourish.

MENSAJE DE NAVIDAD diciembre, 2019
QUERIDA FAMILIA DIOCESANA:
¡ Un niño nos ha nacido, un hijo nos es dado !
¡ Hoy nos ha nacido un Salvador, el Mesías y Señor !
Con estas palabras proclaman y resumen las Sagradas Escrituras el acontecimiento más esperanzador y verdadero que la humanidad ha oído y presenciado. Viene a ser la Encarnación de Dios en un ser humano nacido del vientre de una mujer. Dios viene a nosotros en la vida del niño Jesús, Emanuel que significa Dios con nosotros.
Ante la imagen de una madre y un padre que contemplan silenciosos a su criatura recién nacida, todo lo que digamos no alcanza a manifestar el insondable misterio de lo acontecido en el pesebre: el Dios Creador y Eterno asume nuestra naturaleza mortal para levantarla y darle valor en extremo infinito.
Esa proclamación nos conmueve y podemos entender desde lo más profundo de nuestro ser que la Navidad es el tiempo de la ternura de Dios hecha carne e historia viva en medio de nuestra frágil humanidad.
La Navidad es el acontecimiento de la esperanza e inagotable bondad que Dios nos ofrece. Ese niño recién nacido, entra al mundo haciéndose carne como nosotros. Dios se hace ser humano, entra en nuestras vidas, podemos conocerle, está cerca, es Jesús.
Jesús es el rostro de Dios, Jesús es el lugar de Dios donde los seres humanos podemos estar en El. Las palabras de Jesús son las palabras de Dios. Todo cuanto proviene de Jesús, proviene de Dios, por eso Jesús es el verdadero rostro de Dios. A El le conocemos.
La Navidad que celebramos y compartimos como familia diocesana y en cada una de las comunidades, es certeza de que no estamos solos. Dios en Jesús camina en medio de nuestros proyectos, de nuestra realidad, de nuestra tarea misionera y los múltiples desafíos a los que nos enfrentamos todos los días. Nos encuentra en complejas vicisitudes, nos sana, nos transforma, nos impulsa y configura nuestro horizonte de vida.
La Navidad es historia viva. Es la presencia de Dios sorprendiéndonos con su Amor. En esta celebración es preciso presentar toda nuestra gratitud, gozo y admiración ante sus obras. Y el profundo compromiso de vivir con alegría y sencillez de corazón. Así también trabajar, servir y dar testimonio de los valores del Reino de Dios a aquellos que aún no le conocen. Que en esta Navidad todos hagamos florecer la ternura que proviene de Jesús.
